では、何故〝使えない〟ものを一族は伝え残そうとしたのか？

「The Ultimate in Self Defense」"究極の護身術"とのキャッチコピーを掲げグレイシー柔術を教える男がいた。
彼の名は「カーリー・グレイシー」。前田光世より柔術を学んだカーロス・グレイシーを父に持つ。彼から膨大な寝技体系のみならず、スタンドアップを含めた全局面での護身術を学んだのが若き日の平直行師である。
プロフェッショナルとして格闘技に精通する平師は、当時、「素人相手ならいざ知らず、この護身術は本当に使えるものなのだろうか？」との疑問を拭えなかったとの述懐を漏らしている。
それから20年、格闘技から武の道を歩み続け日本古流武術との出会いを果たした平師は、武術の型を通して「グレイシー護身術」を考察し、初めてその真の姿に気づく。
平師が考察する「グレイシー護身術」の私的な見解......。果たしてそれは、仮説なのか？　それとも"護身術"の真実なのか？　新たな連載が始まる！
