"手のカタチ"を変えるだけで体がよく動くようになる!?
両手親指を引っ掛けるように組んで、後ろに反る動きをする。すると、組まないでやるより、明らかにきれいで深い反り方ができる。
これはあまり知られていないが、「手の使い方」による全身的効果なのだ。
ヨガでは指で輪を作ったり、組んだりとさまざまな"手のカタチ"を作るが、これらは「ムドラ」と呼ばれ、すべてに意味がある。
実はヨガに限らず、仏像に見られる手のカタチや山伏や忍者が行なう「印」なども、一種の「ムドラ」で同種の意味が含まれていると考えられている。手の使い方は、全身の働きに影響を及ぼすものなのだ。
「ムドラ」の効果は、体の可動性を向上させたり、片足立ちでも安定させやすい効果をもたらしたり、心を落ち着けたり、とさまざまなものがある。
本書では、この「ムドラ」にスポットを当て、その意味と働き、もたらされる生理的作用などを具体的にわかりやすく解説しつつ、簡単で短時間に効果の上がるさまざまな体操を紹介する。
