「人は身体ではなく、心から行動します」。武術に内在している戦闘原理を、コンセプトとして指導する渡邊康人先生。その考えの根幹は、事が起きた時の技術〈ディフェンス〉より、起きる前の準備〈プロテクション〉。ここで大切になってくるのが、重心移動などの体の使い方ではなく、心〈意識・思い...重い〉です。先に心を動かし、意識を外に向ける〈忘我〉ことで、それまで出来なかった各種崩しを実現させていきます。「ですから自分に閉じこもらないで、異性とつきあうのも大切なんですよ（笑）」。護身・武術を技術ではなく、考え方・自他との関係で紐解く渡邊先生の説明は、今の稽古にしっくりこない方にとって、ひとつのヒントになりそうです。
